Hilary just got back from serving on an National Science Foundation panel in Washington DC to pick the newest recipients of their Graduate Research Fellowship for study in chemistry. Each of the winners will get a $30000 per year graduate stipend (in addition to paying no tuition!). If any DePauw students are interested in learning more about this very prestigous program, contact me, and I can give you some guidelines.

Hilary and her husband, Dave Murray, took a three week break from work and travel "down-under" to Sydney Austalia and the South Island of New Zealand. They got a chance to swim with dolphins, hike on a glacier and see penguins in the wild. See the photos page for documentation!

Hilary is on sabbatical for the '06-'07 academic year. She is working on a number of projects including doing some lab work, writing up some papers from the work that she and her students have done, and working on developing a Chemistry of Art class for non-majors. She hopes to take a little time out to travel as well!
