The Eppley Group's Lab Commandments

  1. Thou shalt always ALWAYS ALWAYS wear your safety glasses in the lab (even if you are not using chemicals personally)!
  2. Thou shalt wash thine own fair share of dirty glassware.
  3. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's crystals (make your own instead!)
  4. Thou shalt always ALWAYS clean the infrared spectrometer thoroughly after use!
  5. Thou shalt make thine own fair share of EAN and not being bumming such solvent off thy neighbor.
  6. Thou shalt write EVERYTHING in thy notebook
  7. Thou shalt write at the top of each notebook page a chemical reaction showing the MOLE ratios of chemicals that thou art combining and put that same reaction in a table of contents at the front of thy notebook!
  8. Thou shalt not leave thy workspace looking like an F5 tornado passed through!
  9. Thy official lab notebook stays in the lab at all times!
  10. Thou shalt properly label and dispose of all thine own samples and waste!
  11. If thou takest weird equipment (glassware, syringes, mortar and pestle, etc) to a different lab, thou shalt tell the boss so she knows where to find it!
